Back in September of 2015, John and I opened +Lininger Rood Photography  It was an exciting time for both of us but more so for me. I tried to build a photography brand before I met +John Rood  a few years ago and needless to say I had no idea where I was going in my old brand and ended my business. We moved to a whole new state and we were ready to try again.  We brought in a brand specialist and John built me a beautiful new website. After getting everything started, I still love to second shoot.

I actually took on second shooting in KC with our very own wedding photographer because I had no knowledge of Kansas City. I wanted to start all the way over and use work that I was producing that same year to update my website and social media pages. I found out that working with another photographer helped me a ton because I was able to capture shots and details that the main photographer may be unable to capture because they are getting all of the main details. I like to look at a lot of my work in a second shooter role as more editorial.

The other reason I love to second shoot is because I love meeting other local artist and making new friends. I also just REALLY love to help! Weddings can take a toll, and if I can make a bride and main photographer’s day less stressful, I think I have achieved my goal! Beyond stress…weddings are FUN FUN FUN!!! I love seeing all the families get together. Everyone is happy and smiling, and who doesn’t love the WEDDING CAKE?

When a local photographer contacts me to help with a wedding I almost always say YES! For me, there is an opportunity to learn. In this business, trends are always changing. The style of brides are constantly changing as well. There is always a win if you can learn something from a new artist.
