Hi friends, a few weeks ago some of my favorite vendors in Kansas city traveled out to Fort Leavenworth for a styled bridal session. It all started with a dream to put together a summer shoot and capture some of the images on medium format film. I was so happy that I got the opportunity to work with a few new vendors and still work with a some of my all time favorite vendors.

I work around the Leavenworth area and knew it had some beautiful European like touches. The model, Mohogani, had just completed a semester abroad in Italy. We spent the majority of the shoot reminiscing about the details of Leavenworth that reminded us of our favorite parts of Europe. To include semi planning our next trip.

Rachael of Whatever is Lovely Events and I met in the Spring and I had been excited about the opportunity to work with her. She made perfect for this shoot because it matched her soft and elegant personality. Her team put together the newest vendors in the shoot and planned out the major details. She is definitely a wonderful planner, John and I are so happy to be working with her on a wedding this season. Can someone say ecstatic!

We did not shoot this whole session on film, I used my digital camera as well but the images you will see here were all shot with my Pentax 645n. I do love a good bridal session and sometimes photographers don’t always have the time to photograph a variety of portraits because of time restraints and stress throughout the wedding day. Putting this styled bridal session together helped me slow down and focus on my subject. It also allowed me to capture our model beautifully! Stay tuned to the blog this week for more film sessions.
