Wedding & Anniversary Film Photography

Happy Friday friends! I finally received my film back from The Creative Workshop KC, which was hosted by my good pal Lindsay and I. We are so excited to share our education journey with you! The Creative Workshop KC was just a dream over a year ago. I was being asked by many new KC photographers for film advice or training, and even mentoring. Lindsay and I are always collaborating on our ideas for business and one day we noticed that we shared a desire to help our clients get to their dream client. This, plus those simple requests, made me start thinking more about teaching what helps me in my very own business! Lindsay and I started Instagram live sessions to drum up some ideas on what people would like us to talk about, and after every one of our live sessions, we would get even more questions from our viewers. So The Creative Workshop KC was born!

We limited the space to three attendees because I leaned on having an intimate experience for the these amazing women. We hosted the ladies at my favorite bridal salon, Savvy Bridal Boutique, and welcomed them with wonderful treats and gifts. Once we all introduced ourselves the education began. I taught my portion on marketing, gear, social media curation and styling. Lindsay taught her portion on branding, marketing, website curation and getting to your ideal client through your website and communication. We both taught our own portion of Customer Relationship Management (CRM)  because we don’t use the same one, I use Honeybook and Lindsay uses Dubsado!

After we completed the education portion we jumped right into the styled engagement session. During this lesson I taught the ladies exactly what I do during the engagement session. After I finished, we allowed time for each attendee to pose on their own and then pose together and collaborate poses with each other. We used the streets of the Crossroads as our backdrop and it was SO PERFECT!!! After the engagement session was complete we came back to the bridal salon for an informal dinner and tips on editing and keeping a cohesive brand.

The final portion of our workshop took place at sunset on the grounds of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. John brought out an antique car that I was in total love with!!!! The attendees had the opportunity to pose the couple all around the museum and I was so proud of them! They were directing and coaching the couple into the cutest poses and the couple seemed to be extremely comfortable with their direction.  All in all, it was such an amazing experience and I am so glad these ladies chose to attend our first workshop in Kansas City! We are planning the second installment to our KC Workshop in September, stay tuned here to find out more!

This next strip of images is from our styled wedding at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. The session took place on the grounds at sunset. This was my favorite part of the day because I love a good sunset session. The light was absolutely perfect!
