This week is my film anniversary and I am excited to share with you my journey in film. I started last year with 35mm film and then in July I upgraded to medium format with my purchase of the Pentax 645. My first film camera that I bought for myself was a Nikon N80. I purchased it from an American eBay seller. I had heard about the Nikon F100 but I was not wanting to spend more than $200 until I was for sure film was something that I had wanted to pursue. I was actually in love with the images the N80 produced. Unfortunately, I broke the door of the camera and it would have cost more to fix than to get one new. So, HELLO F100!!! Here are the images from the N80 that I was so in love with.
A few weeks later I ordered the F100 and of course loved the images. I traveled with it to France this summer and also on a girls trip to L.A. I have not taken the time to use it as much as the Pentax but I plan to spend some time with it in 2018. Here are some images with it from last year.
When I traveled to France I was able to shoot the Pentax 645 and receive my first roll of film from my shoot there. I expected the images to be super blurry and barely there, but to my surprise they were AMAZING! So I went on a hunt for the same type of camera on eBay. I found one in July and quickly made the purchase. I was so quick with buying it that I don’t even think I told John. I have brought this camera everywhere and plan to spend more time shooting and getting to know medium format film this year. Here are some of my favorite images so far.
Thanks for hanging out with me on the blog today. I am so proud of my first year in film and didn’t think that I would stick to it for this long or even fall in love with it. I have gotten so much love on this project and really appreciate all the compliments I have received. Don’t forget to check out our website HERE and come back every Thursday for more!
