Batey Maternity

Kirstie and Adam’s wedding was in late January of this year and just a few weeks after they returned home from their honeymoon-the couple found out that they were expecting their first child together! They chose two locations for their maternity session and to me, both places are one of the most beautiful locations at the end of Summer/start of Fall.

During the first session the couple wanted to be photographed in the iconic sunflower fields. So we traveled to Lawrence for one of the most popular fields in the area. This was my third time coming here and I knew the area very well. Trampling around was super easy and it wasn’t that hot, however the crowd was still big for a Friday night. Despite the crowd, we were able to spend around 45 mins together before we parted ways for the next session that took place the next day!

The second session occurred the next day and the three of us met and continued the session in one of my favorite places in the park. It was cloudy but humid so this session was a little on the quicker side, since baby wasn’t really into all of the heat and humidity.

Kirstie, Adam and I talked about military life and the new baby girl they were excited to welcome soon. I could remember seeing these two on FB live for their gender reveal. Adam wanted a boy and Kirstie aggressively wanted a girl. We recapped that live session and how much fun they had during the gender reveal. I enjoyed being a part of the live and even wrote in the comments how much I wanted to photograph their maternity session.

Kirstie, Adam and new baby girl, we are honored that we have had the opportunity to be there from the start. We cannot wait to meet baby Batey in November and to photograph her a few days later.
